Help Amy Walk Again

Hi, I am McKenzie, and I am setting up this GoFundMe for my mom Amy. She got into an accident back on October 10th, 2021, which left her with incomplete quadriplegia (loss of function in all 4 limbs, including her hands) and a whole bunch of other medical complications. She was in the ICU for 15 days, then in the Trac-U for 7 days, and then went into the hospital's rehab center for over a month. After 5 months of recovering well, she also had to go into emergency surgery for an ovarian cyst the size of a "small coconut" according to the doctors. Since then, my mom has had to restart the recovery process and still struggles with day-to-day things such as sitting up on her own, walking with a walker down the length of the hallway, and even rolling over while laying down.

Despite having insurance and being 0% at fault for the accident, she is still left with significant medical debt while also being left unable to work. At this point my mom is left with no savings, and is struggling to pay for bills or physical therapy. This money would make a huge difference in my mom's recovery and stability. We hope that this will relieve a lot of stress and anxiety that my mom has about being able to pay rent and pay for physical therapy to be able to walk again.

Being independent again is a huge goal for my mom, as she has always been a very active and strong independent woman. I strongly believe that my mom is capable of walking again and fully recovering if she just has the funds to support herself through this recovery process.
