Evelyn Leonie Reid's CDH battle
Donation protected
On the 10th of February one of my oldest friends Sam and her partner Billi welcomed their daughter, Evelyn Leonie Reid into the world.
At Sam's 19 week scan Evelyn was diagnosed with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia on her left side, her diaphram wasnt forming properly which was allowing her stomach, intestines and bowel to come through severely restricting the space her left lung needed to grow and stunting it.
This condition affects 1 in 25000 babies and requires one if not multiple surgeries to fix, at only a few days old Evelyn received her first surgery to close the hernia and push the abdominal contents down giving her lung room to grow.
After initially responding to treatment well unfortunately yesterday afternoon things took a turn for the worse and Sam and Billi got the call at 2pm that Evelyn needed to be resuscitated and at 3pm she had stabilized.
At this stage they are worried about the lack of oxygen to her brain and are monitoring her to see if any damage was done.
I know so many of us are wanting to reach out, give them a great big hug and make it all better so i thought a go fund me might give some of us a way to help.
Any money raised will be used to assist Sam amd Billi in getting to and from hospital as often as they need and for anything Evelyn may need.
