My mom Kimberly Camper Navarre was unfortunately rediagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer after multiple years of fighting it for the first time, undergoing a masectomy, reconstructive surgery and many rounds of chemo and radiation. We are all suprised and heart broken by her recurrance of now stage 4 due to it spreading to her bones. Unfortunately, the type of breast cancer she has, triple negative, is extremely aggressive and harder to treat, with fewer treatment options. Since it has spread to her bones, surgery is not an option. Due to this, we decided to move her from her oncology team in Flint which is closest to her home, and take her to be seen at U of M.

The past few weeks she has been extremely sick and in pain and she is unable to work. She also has two teenagers, my brother and sister, to take care of while going through this. Right now she is more worried about the financial burden this is going to cause than getting the treatment she needs as well as taking care of her two teen kids. On Friday she will have a followup meeting with her U of M oncologist to go over some final test results and determine if she will make the move to be treated in Ann Arbor. This seems to be the best option as there are more resources for her to participate in clinical trials, which ultimately might end up being her only option.

I am hoping this will at least help her to feel less stressed about her finances and more focused on doing everything we can to help her fight this!!! Anyone who knows her knows how strong and independant she has been her entire life, and now she needs support from others to beat this.

She has a tough fight ahead of her, but she is brave and the strongest woman I know! Anything donated will be greatly appreciated by her and our entire family.
