On Novemeber 15, 2022, our family was given the news that our Father had been diagnosed with Leukemia. At the age of 60, he has worked his whole life putting his family and friends before himself, trying to live the right way. After years of hard work and dedication as a Maintenance Man, he was beginning to plan his retirement when he received his diagnosis. The doctors told him that he needed to stop working and admitted him to the hospital the very next day.
Since November 17th, he has been fighting every day, undergoing chemotherapy treatments. After battling in and out of the hospital, and after months of progress, a minor setback ensured that there are still many more months ahead to beat the cancer.
The home he lives in has fallen on hard times due to both financial and physical stresses. Our Aunt and Uncle have generously given up their home for his out-patient treatment, as my parents home needed some seemingly minor work to be ready to accommodate my Father's needs and health.
A goal we took on was to get the home in a condition he could come back to and safely enjoy. Family, close friends, and neighbors have graciously donated and sacrificed time and money to accomplish this goal. What went from a clean up and paint job turned into more, as we discovered more complications with the home such as black mold, plumbing issues, and structural problems.
After months of donating weekends and free time throughout the week, the physical and financial burden is beginning to take its toll.
We are asking for donations in order to manage the material expenses for the home, and to aid in helping to offset the hospital fees he is incurring. We want to get him home so he can live out and enjoy his retirement with his wife of 35 plus years. We ask that you please assist in anyway you can whether that be through donations, prayers or sharing this page to friends and family. We appreciate you taking the time to read.
