Hi, my name is Diana, I am Joe's cousin. It’s never easy to ask for help, but I’m reaching out to you on behalf of our cousin Joe. He was just diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Joe is a wonderful man that had to leave his full-time position to take on this battle. Joe is just starting this journey so there are so many unknowns. Though Joe has medical insurance that covers most of the cost of chemotherapy sessions, he will need assistance in making rent payments, daily living expenses as well as co-payment which will be thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket costs. Joe is doing this on his own. Being out of work and worrying about how you're going to make ends meet is a stress I hope we can take away from him so he can put all his energy into fighting this battle. Since Joe is just at the beginning of this we are not sure just how much finical help he will need. Anyone facing a cancer diagnosis knows that you need all the help, love and support the people around you can give. Joe has a long road ahead of him. As you know, Joe has always been there for us. He’s the first one to any function, and he’s also the first one there to lend a helping hand. Now it’s time for us to be there for Joe. We’re asking all friends and family if they can contribute anything to help cover the cost of his treatment. Joe is a sweetheart and one hell of a cookie baker, and now he needs our help.
