Help Give Tommy A Life

Donation protected
Our cousin Tommy is a sweet loving man who dedicated his life to helping his mother with her illnesses and mental disabilities.  He would put her before himself which caused him to never have a life of his own.  Today, our cousin Tommy is 41 years old and is a mildly impaired individual who has been working at Pathmark to support himself and his sick mother.  He lost his job because Pathmark was bought by Stop n Shop and they let go of all the Pathmark employees.  Due to the loss of his job and with his mother's failing health, him and his mother were evicted from their home in Middle Village.  Soon after the eviction, Tommy's mother was put in the care of ICU due to heart failure and increasing fluid in her lungs.  Between being evicted and being mildly impaired, Tommy was forced to become homeless.  He's been homeless for 2 years. In result of not having any parents left, this drove Tommy into an extreme deep depression.  He was found in a park in Far Rockaway sleeping with barely any shoes and only the clothing on his back.  He did this every day because it was across the street from the nursing home his mother was in. During the day he would try to sleep at the nursing home, but they would kick him out at 8pm and wouldn't allow him to stay there any longer. Tommy's mother has passed away very recently. Since then, Tommy has been stocking shelves at a deli in Far Rockaway for a sandwich and shelter. We are unsure how long the deli will continue to let Tommy stay there. We need to help him as soon as possible.  We have been losing sleep every single night worrying about where our cousin is and if he is alive and safe each and every day.  There is so much danger out there, especially for someone who is slightly impaired.  People can take advanage of someone with a disability. We are trying to raise money to help Tommy have a fair chance at life.  We want to help him off the cold dangerous streets as quickly as possible.  He has nowhere to go.  He hasn't been seen by a doctor for many years due to the financial crisis.  He needs to start taking care of his health as well.  Tommy hasn't had a decent shower, a haircut and hasn't worn clean clothes in a very long time.  He would use this money for food, water, clothes, shelter, medical check ups and all other costs of living.   Raising this money would give us such relief to know that our cousin would be in his own place that is warm and safe.   We would be truly grateful for all the kind and big hearted people who would donate some money towards Tommy's chance at life.  It would give him a chance to start his life over by getting his own place that is safe and getting a job to help support his living. Tommy deserves a chance at life like all of us do.
