Vivian Pennock 8/29/1998 - 12/4/2015 Grand Rapids. Vivian Yvonne Pennock, age 17, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 4, 2015. She is survived by her parents, Terri Rozema and Jim Rozema and Eric and Phyllis Pennock; her grandparents, John and Judy Doezema, Lucille Palmatier, Gil and Cherie Kitchen and Jayne Rohner (dec'd). Additional family includes Simone, Erys, Jordan (Yesil), E'lise (Yomani), Devan, Isabella, Sophie, and Brianna; Terri's sisters; Jodi Doezema and her children, Cassandra, Alexis and J.R., Jessica McCormick and her son Logan, Shauna Kitchen, and Rebecca Vedder and her children Riley and Makayla. Eric's sister, Melissa (Jim) Polakavich and their children, Alexandra, Jacob and Tucker (dec'd) and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Vivian was an amazing daughter and devoted friend. She would stay up all hours of the night for anyone who needed a listening ear or someone to talk to. A sincere listener, especially when her friends or family members were going through difficult times, Vivian always made herself available. She had a care-taking heart and was the first to offer help to anyone in need. Vivian loved her family and friends with every ounce of her being and constantly let them know how much she loved them. "I love you." was one of the phrases she said the most. Vivian loved traveling, being outdoors, climbing trees, chasing and playing tug-a-war with her beloved dog Lefty. She was adventurous in nature and took almost instantaneously to the many expeditions she shared with her mother. She especially loved whitewater rafting the Middle Fork of the Salmon River, canyoneering and rappelling at Zion National Park, Hiking the AT, climbing at Arches National Park and digging for clams in Maine. There were no rollercoasters or amusement park rides too high or fast for her. She noticed beauty in what most people would view as common, photographed it brilliantly and expressed it poetically. She was her mother's best friend, and the most precious gift of a daughter God could have ever given. Funeral services will be held at 7 PM Thursday evening at Madison Square Christian Reformed Church, 1441 Madison S - See more at: http://mobileobits.mlive.com/obituaries/grandrapids/obituary.aspx?n=vivian-pennock&pid=176803451&referrer=0&preview=True#sthash.3o19iJqB.dpuf
