Ricky’s family fund
Donation protected
On Friday 9th May night, Southend Collegians football team was playing in a cup final, and unfortunately the game was abandoned due to a horrific injury caused to a close friend of mine. After 10 minutes our striker Ricky Marsh, came out worse in a 50/50 tackle leading him to a clean break of both his fibula and tibia. Ricky will go into surgery this week, to restructure his leg using rods, plates and screws.
Ricky is a self employed plasterer with 2 children under 3 and has no insurance. Therefore, we as his team mates are trying to do everything possible to help raise money for him to help him and his family over the next 3 months at least.
The doctors think he will be off work for this amount of time but this could be more. As the main source of income, this has put a lot of additional stress on him and the family.
We already have a charity football game organised for the 24th May, at Goals Southend between 12-2 pm but we are also looking at reaching out to the wider community for any assistance they can help with.
If you would like to know more about the charity match or even send a little donation to help us on this journey please let me know. We know times are hard, so anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated as you can imagine, times have just got a whole lot harder for our friend.
Any money raised will be going directly to Ricky, Rose, Ella and Freddie to help them pay their bills, and get through the next few challenging months ahead after losing Ricky’s income.
For any details regarding the Charity match on the 24th May, please message either Perry, Stacey or Mike from Southend Collegians or simply drop a message to the page.
Thank you for your support and donations
