Help Save Louie

Hi my name is Mariam, My beloved Louie is sick and needs help. I have had Louie for 8 years. Louie has always been a gentle, caring, and a healthy boy! Earlier this month the vet informed me that Louie’s prostate was enlarged and recommended he gets desexed.

Louie was desexed on the 9th of October 2023, after this things went down hill. On the 10th of October 2023 Louie began to bleed large clots and litres of blood from his penis. I attended three different vets and the animal hospital however no one knew why he was bleeding.

Eventually the bleeding stopped with antibiotics however on the 27th of October Louie stopped walking on his back legs, I rushed him to the vet and animal hospital. Unfortunately Louie was diagnosed with anaemia due to the loss of blood and now requires further treatment and investigation. At the moment Louie is unable to stand and has lost a significant amount of blood.

The animal hospital has determined Louie is palliative. Currently Louie is in need of urgent blood transfusions to survive over the next few days, his blood is at 20% and continues to go down. After his transfusion he needs to be hospitalised and needs to undergo a CT scan to determine if he has cancer or an autoimmune disease. Depending on the outcome he will require further care and hospitalisation.

Due to the financial constraints I am unable to get Louie the medical care he needs. It’s true what they say, you don’t choose your dog they choose you. Louie has given me so much life over the last 8 years. ❤️❤️ please help Louie get the medical treatment he needs.
