On June 28 - July 12, 2014, we will be taking up the challenge and honor of being part of a Cultural Exchange program for selected members of Ta'ere Tia'i Polynesian Cultural Arts Center. This extensive cultural trip will be in Tahiti, French Polynesia. Ta'ere Tia'i is a cultural center that focuses on perpetuating the traditions of Polynesian music and dance instruction of Tahiti, Hawaii and South Pacific islands.
In this program, select students of Ta'ere Tia'i will attend a traditional festival and competition event called the "Heiva", as well as many other learning opportunities. Our students in this select group have put in a lot of time and effort in training to be able to make this trip a special one, as they have worked very hard. We expect and hope to spread and gain community awareness of this culture.
Our center leans towards our businesses to support culture and tradition in our communities. Being able to support a small portion of this event will make such a difference in our communities of being a good corporate citizen as well as spreading this beautiful culture.
Although this may be a small request for time away from school and work, a student's participation in this event is a worthwhile investment as a positive impact for other students as well as the culture that it brings to communities. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of our request.
