I’m doing this go fund me page for my dear wife of 45 years, Pamela, who has had a number of issues beginning in February, 2019 when she was diagnosed with a non-aggressive follicular lymphoma which quickly transformed in April of 2019 to a very aggressive form called diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
This resulted in intense chemotherapy for four months, part of the time hospitalized, and then finishing treatment in out-patient chemotherapy. In August, 2019, she was in remission until February/March of 2021. At that time the diffuse large B-cell lymphoma came back, and this second round of treatment included a bone marrow transplant which required additional chemotherapy. The treatment was successful, and she is currently in remission, for which we are both very happy.
Prior to having the bone marrow transplant, it was necessary to take care of all dental work, which she did--a couple of cavities and a bit more.
Just recently (February 2022), she went to the dentist because she had a toothache and it turned out that she needed extensive work, including a minimum of three root canals, which were going to require crowns.
Pam’s oncologist had mentioned that chemotherapy could make her more susceptible to tooth decay, especially at the root line. We had no idea that it would be this excessive.
At this point, they’ve only x-rayed the left side of her mouth and not her right side at all, so we’re not sure what additional work will need to be done. The work on the left side alone comes to over $16,000.
I am humbly asking for any help that anyone can give us to help us through this additional period of costly medical care.
We both thank you for any kindness you show to us. We are just absolutely so appreciative.
Thank you and love to you all.
