️ Help My Family and Friends in Jamaica Recover After the Hurricane.
Hi everyone,
My name is Charmaine Swaby and I’m fundraising to support my family and friends in Jamaica, who have been severely affected by the recent hurricane. Their homes have been severely damaged, they have lost essential belongings, and they are currently struggling with limited access to food, clean water, and basic supplies.
This disaster has shaken our whole community, which is situated in the parishes of St Elizabeth, St James and Hanover. I’m doing everything I can from the UK to get them back on their feet.
The hurricane hit the island of Jamaica with devastating force. My family including my uncles, cousins, friends and in laws have been left in unsafe living conditions. Many homes have been totally destroyed, roofs have been torn off, flooding has destroyed furnitures and appliances, and they now face many hard months of recovery.
They urgently need:
- New homes and accommodation
- Emergency food and clean water
- Repairs to their home (roofing, windows, materials)
- Replacement of essential items
- Medical and hygiene supplies
All donations will go directly towards helping my family and friends to recover, including:
- New housing
- Housing repairs
- Replacing damaged essentials
- Emergency living costs
I will post updates so donors can see exactly how funds are being used.
How the funds will be distributed.
Because GoFundMe does not currently support direct withdrawals in Jamaica, I Charmaine Swaby will receive all funds in my UK bank account. I will then transfer the money directly to my family and friends in Jamaica using secure and trusted international money transfer services (e.g direct bank transfer, Western Union, local remittance partners).
I will keep full transparency and share updates throughout the process to show when and how funds reach them.
