Hello everyone, and thank you for taking a moment out of your day to read our story. I’d like to introduce you to my three-year-old French Bulldog, Atlas.
Many of you who know me personally know that Atlas has been sick for several months. During this time, I’ve taken him to the vet repeatedly and spent thousands of dollars trying to get answers and keep him comfortable. Unfortunately, due in part to unethical breeding practices, Atlas has faced more health challenges than any dog should.
After a series of tests and a recent ultrasound, the veterinarians have found concerning results that lead them to believe he may have lymphoma.
Right now, it costs about $348 a month just to manage his symptoms, and I want to be clear, I will not be using any donations for these monthly care costs. That is my responsibility as his parent.
However, to formally diagnose Atlas and give him a real chance at a longer, healthier life, he needs surgery sooner rather then later to remove his cryptorchid testicle from his abdomen and a biopsy of his intestines. These procedures will allow the vets to confirm what we’re dealing with and potentially treat it early enough to help him stay with us much longer. He’s only three years old. He’s still just a baby in my eyes.
Funds are running short, and it breaks my heart to think that I might not be able to give Atlas the care he needs, not just for me, but for my 10-month-old daughter, who is absolutely inseparable from him. They are true partners in crime: always playing and getting into something together. She loves teasing him with her toys and snacks, and he follows her everywhere. I want her to have the chance to grow up with the dog she adores.
The best case scenario is that the biopsy and surgery confirm he doesn’t have lymphoma, and that removing the testicle reduces his future risk. Atlas is already battling gastrointestinal disease and epilepsy adding something as serious as lymphoma could be devastating for him.
Every dollar raised will go directly and exclusively toward his medical procedures. If you’re able to donate, even a single dollar would truly make a difference.
Thank you so much for reading, sharing, and supporting Atlas. My hope is to give my little guy the chance at more time, less pain, and the life he deserves.
