On Thursday morning May 16th, Emileigh woke up to find Chris (her fiancé) seizing on their entryway floor. He was rushed to the ER where they determined he had severe swelling and bleeding of his brain, which was pinching off his spinal column and oxygen. He was immediately life flighted to Mercy San Juan for neurosurgery. Since this terrible day, he’s undergone another surgery to asses new complications that arose during the first week in the ICU. We still don’t know the full extent of his injuries, but day by day he is fighting to recover. He still has a long way to go, but with a little support and a lot of physical therapy, he will get there.
There has been a tremendous outpour of well wishes, love, and prayer from friends and family near and far....all of which have been greatly appreciated. So many people have offered help in different ways. We all feel so helpless hoping and waiting for more and more positive updates from the ICU. So, how can we help? What can we do? Chris and Emileigh have been together for 10 plus years, raising their children together as one big family. Emileigh is an absolute angel, superwoman, and mother. While trying to juggle home life with the children, she’s also trying to spend as much time as she can with Chris in the hospital; which doesn’t leave much time for work. Emileigh is self-employed, so she is not able to take paid sick days or vacation days like many of us. Time spent away from work is money lost. This is where we come in. Our goal is to raise enough funds to help with the overwhelming costs of critical care, out of pocket expenses, and the best rehabilitation we can get to help him back to the feisty, lovable man he was and can still be. Any amount large or small will be welcome. We appreciate and are grateful for any help you can give us on Chris’ journey to recovery. His family cannot thank you enough. We will be posting more updates as time goes on.
We all know this platform takes a percentage from each donation. If you’d like to donate directly to Chris and Emileigh, we have set up an account at Bank of Feather River under Emileigh Winslow.
