Hello, thanks for taking the time to read! Moose was hit by a car Monday evening around 7:20 pm in Moore. He was rushed to a vet hospital in Norman as he was barely breathing. They found out he has a broken femur and pneumothorax. After they drained his lungs and got him semi-stable, they informed us that they didn't have the facility equipt to take care of him. As Megan (his momma) rushed from texas 3 hours away, praying she would at least get to say goodbye because things did not look good. The Norman facility said that we would have to transport him to Edmond at 7 a.m. That they would give him pain medicine, and they would have to treat him there. This precious poochy is so much more than a puppy to Megan. It's her baby. Her first and only dog and the best dorkiest pup who is obsessed with ear rubs and always brings that Big Dog energy. We decided to get him to the best facility as soon as possible since 7 am from Norman to Edmond during rush hour morning traffic would most likely not be the safest situation. Thank you, God, for reminding us of that. That night after getting to the Edmond hospital, Moose declined and likely would have expired if it wasn't for God's loving grace telling us to transfer him right away. At 4:30 am Tuesday, they drained an additional 1.3 L of fluid from around his lungs. He's had several ups and downs but is now stable and awaiting femur surgery. We have expired all funds just trying to keep him alive. We would surely be grateful if you have it on your heart and soul to donate any amount. He is eating, the fluid around his lungs is improving, and he is set for surgery Monday morning. If you don't know about puppy bills, to give you a heads up, the starting cost of this was between $7800-$8700, and they wouldn't even treat him until that amount was paid....now after finding out he has to stay the weekend before surgery that cost has increased significantly. I'm also offering last minute puppy minis to help pay for moose's surgery in the days to come so if you would like photos of your dog for the holidays 100% of the profits going to moose please consider booking a session at ashleymcclintock.com. Help us bring this puppy home for the holidays and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generous heart.
