Hi, my name is Louisa and I am taking part in the 14.5 mile (22km) kilt-walk in April raising money for Mesothelioma UK. Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that affects the mesothelium, a protective lining around internal organs, especially your lungs. My Nana was diagnosed with Mesothelioma in May 2021 and we were told she only had 18 months left to live. Within that 18 months she also developed Alzheimer's. However, my nana was incredibly strong and managed to fight until the 17th of November 2025 when she sadly passed away. I think that raising awareness about Mesothelioma is extremely important as it’s a rare but very harmful type of cancer. I aim to raise £500 in the lead up to my walk. Thank you for reading!
