Kimball Family Trip - Uganda 2016

The Kimball family is traveling to Uganda!

This April, the 5 Kimballs (Doug, Dave & Lisa, Bill & Katie) will travel together to Uganda. This marks the first trip to Africa for everyone except Doug, who has traveled to Uganda 5 other times since 2009. We will prmarily be traveling throughout the capital city of Kampala and Jinja regions of Uganda.

The Kimballs will be serving with the Pastors Discipleship Network, a ministry that is equipping pastors and strengthening the African church. PDN is a registered nonprofit 501c(3) organization that was established in 2008 to train, equip and network pastors in Africa. They focus on equipping pastors and their wives with critical ministry and life skills in order to facilitate better ministry performance and personal development for the pastor. For more information about PDN, please click here.
PDN is led by the dynamic leader Richmond Wandera, a former Compassion International sponsored child. Hear his story in the brief video below:
We are thankful for Compassion International for having such an impact on Richmond's life and thousands of other children around the world. We are looking forward to visiting our Ugandan sponsored Compassion children during our trip.

Our Goals
Make a difference. Our hope and desire is that we can serve the people of Africa and make an impact that will last well beyond the 2 weeks we are in Uganda.

Be transformed. Making a trip like this will have lasting significance in our lives. We pray that God will teach us more about His love, grace and provision.

How Can You Get Involved?
Pray. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, please consider praying for us and the people of Uganda. This is a significant journey for our family and yet we definitely see it as a huge blessing. The 5 of us will be facilitating a 3 day conference in front of 160 pastors and their wives. Doug, Bill & Dave will present and lead discussion on business topics that will assist pastors in starting new businesses and creating needed income for their families and church congregations; Lisa will facilitate women's ministry topics in hopes of encouraging these pastors' wives; and Katie will educate attendees on important health issues while also providing 1:1 medical screenings. We are each preparing for this trip and stepping out in faith that the Holy Spirit will lead us during this time. Your prayers will be very important and meaningful to us.

Contribute. Between the 5 of us, we have projected total expenses (air travel, food, housing, ministry and medical supplies, etc) of roughly $13,500. We will pay for our family's air travel, food and housing costs anticipated to be $11,000. If you want to contribute to this trip financially, we would be extremely grateful for any amount you would decide to give to help us reach our goal of providing needed ministry and medical supplies. These funds would help cover the cost of handouts, printing and laminating, baggage fees to get these materials to Uganda, small gifts for our hosts and other fees we will need to cover in country and/or associated with this conference.
We are so excited to visit the beautiful people and country of Uganda next month. Thank you for your prayers and support!
