Hello, my name is Michelle (Locke) Nelson. Please help if you can. My dad, Rob Locke, was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue in July 2022, after suffering unidentified mouth pain for many weeks. The tumor grew very rapidly prior to surgical removal on August 3rd at UW Madison Hospital. Unfortunately, the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes, progressing to stage 4, due to the aggressive nature of the tumor. He has had to stop working to focus on healing and recovery. At this time he is undergoing daily treatments to eradicate the remaining cancer from his body.

His complete loss of income and my mom’s reduced work hours, due to his daily treatments, has decreased their household income by over 60%. Their expenses however, have increased significantly due to: high medical deductible, prescriptions, special personal care needs, travel for surgery and daily treatments, special diet and meal supplements.

This fund is set up to help offset some of those expenses. If you are able, please consider helping financially with a donation in any amount that you can. A little bit about my dad: My dad is an easy going, fun loving family man that has always been there for us and our community. He is keeping his hopes high and continues to have a great sense of humor. He loves serving the youth of Merrill, he is a past president of the Merrill Noon Optimist Club and former youth group leader, these positions gave him the opportunity to further his passion to support and help the youth in our community. He currently works for Merrill Area Public school, because he loves our community and loves helping the students and teachers daily. His favorite pass times are playing with his two grandchildren and fishing every lake he can find in the northwoods!
