Help Families Impacted by SNAP Delays and the Government Shutdown
Across the country, families are struggling to make ends meet due to the recent government shutdown and the resulting cuts and delays to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits. For millions of Americans, SNAP provides essential monthly support to put food on the table — and when those benefits are disrupted, it can mean empty pantries and difficult choices between groceries, gas, and rent.
Our team at Mind The Gap is organizing a gift card drive to directly support individuals and families in our community who are affected by these interruptions. 100% of the funds raised will go toward grocery and gas gift cards for households experiencing food insecurity or hardship during this time.
There’s a deep sense of dignity in being able to walk into a grocery store, choose the foods that fit your family’s nutritional and cultural needs, and check out just like everyone else. For many, SNAP benefits have long been a stable part of their family budget — and now, without them, that stability has been shaken. Gift cards allow families to maintain a sense of normalcy and agency during an incredibly difficult time.
Every dollar helps. A $25 donation can provide a few days of groceries for a family in need, while $100 can make a huge difference in keeping food on the table for the week. Together, we can help bridge the gap and ensure that no one in our community goes hungry while waiting for essential benefits to resume.
Please donate if you can — and share this campaign to spread the word. Your support brings comfort, stability, and hope when it’s needed most.
