Larry Johnson, as most of us know, was the kind of person that gave his life to the sport of 5 pin bowling, by first participating at the highest levels in the sport in BC and at the Canadian National Championships, then coaching adults and youth at those same high levels in both BC and Canada.
Larry, was a giver in so many ways to everyone that knew him, as an amazing friend, as a mentor, a coach, a brother to his sister Linda and Don, sister in law, Peg, and Uncle to Paige and Spencer.
Larry was the person you could call on anytime to help with anything, we all called him Uncle Larry.
Larry wanted to continue to give back to the bowling community and to its youth programs at Grandview Lanes, where he bowled and coached at, and throughout BC, to help bring more young people into the sport, to help it grow again and to create a scholarship program to assist young bowlers reach their full potential.
The monies raised here will go 100% directly to this cause in memory of Larry Johnson and help create a legacy, that can help young bowlers reach their full potential, get the coaching they need to do this and to help grow the numbers in the sport again.
I, Kip Smith, am only the organizer and distributor of the funds and will not personally benefit from any of the funds, as all will go back to Bowling, in memory of Larry Johnson, as mentioned above.
