Hello,
My name is Nick, but my students know me as Mr. T. I am a history teacher at Bret Harte Middle School in Hayward, CA.
We are trying to raise funds so that we can experience the amazing history of our nations capital. This trip will go through School Tours of America. Myself and the students will fly across the country to DC and spend 5 days experiencing the memorials, exhibits, museums, and sites that the city has to offer.
The money will be used to reduce the cost of the trip for all students. It will act as defacto financial aid.
Although the trip will not leave until mid-June the funds are due by April, 2016.
This trip means a lot to me because I went on a similar trip in my 8th grade year, and I remember it being a amazing experience. This excursion will bring so many ideas and concepts, that the students have been studying and learning about throughout the year, to life. This trip might also be many of our students first opportunity to travel, and see another part of the country.
We would be so thankful for any and all support. This would be the first organized trip to DC from our school and I think it would send a great message to our 7th graders and other future students about charity and what it means to give and support others.
