In loving memory of David Wayne Deleach David Wayne DeLoach, 47, of New Braunfels Texas, passed away on March 9, 2026. David was born on April 9, 1978, in Austin, Texas, to Karen Lyn Carter and Walter DeLoach. He spent his life in Texas, mostly in Cedar Park, a place he proudly called home. David was a hardworking man who spent many years in construction, constantly fine-tuning his craft. He took great pride in his work and in doing every job the right way. Outside of work, David loved fishing, hunting, being near the ocean, and anything that allowed him to be outdoors. He was also known for his sharp wit and a sense of humor that lived somewhere between clever and slightly offensive-something those who loved him will miss dearly. David was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Carter; his little brother, Scott Carter; and his father, Walter DeLoach. He is survived by his life partner, Melissa Bright; his nephew, Brodie David Huckfeldt; his sisters, Tera LaTouf, Zena DeLoach, and Denise Cotton; his brother, George Searcy; as well as many friends he cherished dearly, along with aunts, uncles, and cousins. Services and a celebration of life will be held soon, with details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to help with end-of-life expenses and to support Melissa as she takes the time she needs to mourn and heal.

At the beginning of 2025, David started to experience symptoms that were slowly increasing in severity and pain.

Near the end of May, he was taken to the ER and told he had a full bowel obstruction and needed surgery.

That started a 3-week hospital stay.

In surgery, they placed a gastric tube to bypass the obstruction and found multiple tumors.

He was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer.

David had one round of chemotherapy while in the hospital and was released to home health care to wait for additional treatment. He is currently relying on daily TPN (IV nutrition).

Melissa has been managing his care with weekly visits from a home health nurse, all while navigating complications and limited insurance coverage.

David is now on a new insurance plan and will be starting a care plan with a new oncologist in the hopes to get access to the care he needs and deserves.

As you can imagine, David is not physically able to work, and medical care at this level is financially exhausting.

Any amount given will be used to support David’s medical needs.
