Cancer Treatment Expense

Donation protected
Hi my name is Kadri-Dale Campbell, friend of Debbie Baker and teacher currently living and working in the USA. Debbie has been thrown many curve balls and this one is the biggest one as she has to now fight with cancer. They say when life throws you lemons you simply make lemonade. Such is the story of Lola, my friend. Debbie Baker is a hardworking woman, a single mother who keeps trying and fighting. She has always been a fighter as persons have come to know her through her stories as shared by journalist Janet Silvera of the Jamaican Gleaner. The Jamaican population has seen this woman has fought hard to make a brand for herself and just when things seem to be looking up here comes the word nobody wants to hear. That word that starts with C that nobody wants to talk about has taken a serious toll on her expenses and as such she now needs the help of friends to support her and anyone who is willing to lend a hand. The reality is when you live in a third world country expenses for treatment will wipe you clean. Debbie is a patient at the Cancer Unit at the Cornwall Regional Hospital and the bills are now higher than the income. Debbie is in no way a lazy woman as she is always pushing and fighting to find a way out.

Debbie is a small business owner who has found a niche in society making waves and doing what she needs to do. She hails from a quaint village in the parish of Manchester and is always working to make her way through life. To this day she is still making lemonade and this you can tell from her story on this Gofundme page. Heavy is the head that wears the crown as her little business can’t carry this weight anymore and she needs some financial push to help her stay afloat. Many of us have seen several GoFundMe pages that leave a lot to questions but her story is as genuine as they come. Debbie has moved from farming to a natural line of products to her tourism product. All of the above have helped her carve a niche in the western eye of Jamaica. You would think with her trying herself at so many things life would become easy but that is far from the truth. In Jamaica we say "every mickle mek a muckle" or "one one cocoa full basket", which all means that whatever you contribute will help to make her expenses lighter. She is not sitting down on this and you can find her on her social pages Lola Tours working hard amidst her storms.

The funds will be used to assist her with her chemo therapy and the surgery which has amassed a bill of over 1.5 million Jamaican dollars. This will be spent in this direction to assist her and will ensure a smooth transition.
