Three years ago, my wife, Hanna, and I received life-changing news. But our journey began even earlier.

In 2020, Hanna was diagnosed with endometriosis. Over the following years, she endured chronic pain and underwent two laparoscopic surgeries in hopes of finding relief. Despite these procedures, her endometriosis continued to return. She later underwent a LEEP procedure, which revealed precancerous cells covering approximately three-quarters of her cervix. Because of these findings and family history, doctors recommended a hysterectomy.

During her surgery, doctors also discovered precancerous tissue throughout her pelvis and explained that, without removing it, it would eventually become cancerous. Although the diagnosis was frightening, we were grateful there was a way to prevent cancer before it had the chance to develop.

Thankfully, the surgery was successful. Following her hysterectomy and the removal of the precancerous tissue, doctors confirmed that Hanna was cancer-free. At her most recent follow-up, she continues to remain cancer-free—a blessing for which we are deeply thankful to God.

Unfortunately, the surgery also led to serious complications that have dramatically changed her life. What we hoped would be the beginning of a healthier future instead left her with ongoing physical limitations. Today, she is unable to stand or walk for extended periods without significant pain and exhaustion. Everyday activities that many of us rarely think about—grocery shopping, taking a walk, attending outdoor events, or even standing long enough to prepare a meal—have become difficult and, at times, impossible.

In 2024, as her condition worsened and the pain became overwhelming, Hanna was forced to leave her job. Losing her career was heartbreaking. She has always been hardworking and independent, and having to step away from work because of her health affected not only our finances but also a part of her identity.

Hanna has faced these challenges with incredible strength, perseverance, and faith. Over the past three years, she has attended countless medical appointments, undergone extensive testing, and traveled in search of answers. Along the way, doctors have diagnosed her with bilateral hip dysplasia, inward femurs, and ischiofemoral impingement syndrome. Despite these findings, they have not been able to determine the underlying cause of the severe pain and mobility limitations she continues to experience.

In our search for answers, we traveled to the Cleveland Clinic, hoping its specialists could identify the cause of Hanna's condition. Although they conducted a thorough evaluation, they were also unable to determine why she continues to experience these debilitating symptoms. While we left without the answers we had hoped for, we remain committed to continuing the search for effective treatment and a path toward healing.

We are grateful to have found a medication that helps manage Hanna's pain, but it does not restore the mobility she has lost or allow her to live independently.

We want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us. Because of your incredible generosity, we were able to purchase a lightweight wheelchair for Hanna. Your kindness has already made a tremendous difference in her daily life. The wheelchair has given her greater independence and has made it possible for her to do things that had become nearly impossible, like grocery shopping, attending outdoor events with family and friends, and simply enjoying time outdoors without becoming completely exhausted.

While this has been an enormous blessing, our journey is far from over. The medical appointments, specialist consultations, testing, travel expenses, and ongoing treatments over the past three years have resulted in significant medical bills. We are humbly asking for continued support to help ease this financial burden so that we can focus on Hanna's care and continue pursuing the treatment she needs.
