Sal Strong
We are still in disbelief and our lives have drastically changed since 7/17/2020, Sal suffered a tragic accident in which he was left Quadriplegic. Sal suffered a fall from a high-rise building and underwent multiple surgeries to assist with the physical damage but unfortunately his spine was severely affected by the accident. Sal has been receiving physical therapy but has made very little progress.
In hopes that Sal may walk again we are creating this page to assist with aggressive physical therapy rehabilitation as well as mental health therapy to help him cope with this life changing event. We are looking to send him to an out of the country STEM Cell Research program with the funds raised with this page. These funds will cover the research program and transportation to and from the Bay Area to Colombia as he will have to travel 4x a year for this research program
We strongly recommend checking in on your loved ones as our family is currently going through the toughest time we’ve ever been faced with. We also strongly encourage an open discussion with your family and friends in regards to suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Please keep in mind that men die by suicide 3x more often than women. 132 suicides per day are men. We are extremely blessed to have him still here and want to help provide him with as many resources as needed. Cynthia Mata, his sister, manages his funds and she will assure that the funds go directly to Sal for all his medical care and therapies.
Please call 800-273-8255 for suicide prevention help.
