This page has been set up on behalf of our incredible friends Anna & Dom and their gorgeous little girl Flo.
Fearless Florence ✨
Anyone who knows our beautiful daughter Florence, will know just how much light, love and happiness she brings to mine and Dom’s lives, and our family and friends lives.
A month after Florence’s first birthday on the 18th November 2024, our entire world stopped still as our little girl was found to have a tumour in her tummy. What we had been reassured on multiple occasions over several weeks was simply just severe constipation, led to the unimaginable reality that our baby girl had cancer and was now facing the fight of her life.
Following an admission to the Oncology Ward at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Florence was diagnosed with a high-risk Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a rare type of childhood cancer which develops in the nerve cells. On the 26th November Florence began her treatment plan, which consists of 12-18 months of induction chemotherapy, surgery, stem cell harvest and rescue, high-dose chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy.
The week prior to Florence’s diagnosis she had learnt to roar like a lion. She became so poorly during the first month following diagnosis, though we knew that she already had the strength of a fierce lioness cub within her and that we would soon hear her roar again, which we did. Throughout every treatment and admission, our little girl continues to surprise us with her incredible strength.
Cancer does not define who Florence is and who she will grow up to be - she is our brave, beautiful, clever, strong, courageous and resilient little girl. We believe and wish each day that her incredible strength and resilience, the treatment and our love as a family will save her life, and that this will just be one very small chapter in her long life.
We are sharing the most personal details of our lives so publicly and this feels uncomfortable for us, though we know that without others help we won’t be able to reach our goal.
✨
We are raising contingency funds for the eventuality that we may need to seek alternative treatment for Flo in the future, alongside supporting us with additional costs to care for her throughout prolonged hospital admissions ahead. If any funds aren’t needed, then we will donate to the Oncology Ward at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, for the life saving care that they have given to our daughter.
Our amazing family and friends will be holding different fundraising events, so please help in any way if you can. No gesture or donation is too small. We will never be able to convey our true gratitude for any support given to us during this time, though please know that we will forever be grateful.
For us to remain focused on Flo’s treatment and to maintain our privacy, please contact the people listed below for anything fundraising related and the same for anyone wishing to pass on any messages. Thank you for your support as we navigate through this journey.
