Medical Aid Palestine
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. They provide immediate medical aid to those in great need, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.
It's hard to find words for the experience of watching the news cycle on the genocide happening in Palestine right now. I'm sure we all share feelings of powerlessness, disappointment in humanity and confusion as to why and how people can be capable of such actions. As of today (22 April 2024), at least 34,049 Palestinians have been killed and another 76,901 have been wounded since October 7th, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. At least two-thirds of casualties have been women and children. It's numbing to think about. Lives being taken in any manner for any reason is unjust– this goes far beyond unjust.
It's impossible for me to describe. Though reading some of the poetry by Palestinians can definitely provide some words. Refaat Alareer's (Translated by D. P. Snyder), If I Must Die gave me a lot of motivation and inspiration over these last few months.
I wanted to do something positive, to fight that feeling of powerlessness, disappointment and confusion. So here we are, go to the instagram post for more information.
