Help Chris Recover

On June 12th, 2023, our dad Chris was driving home on the highway during a rainy day. A driver going too fast in the opposite direction hydroplaned, slid through the concrete medians, hit him head-on, and caused his car to roll off the highway.

Of the four cars involved in the accident, he was the only one to sustain serious injuries; two fractures in his spine. It has quickly and drastically affected his mobility, and at the moment he has lost mobility in his legs and torso and has limited use of his arms and hands.

He has roughly 5 weeks of in-hospital rehab, will not have a source of income after discharge, will need accessible housing and adaptive equipment, and has a year of physical therapy ahead of him.

There will be pressing costs such as an electric wheelchair, paying movers, and maintaining care and physical therapy during this crucial first year. Aside from these immediate costs, there will be lifelong costs to ensure he is as comfortable and independent as possible.

Donated funds will be used to cover the costs of care, including hospital bills, in and outpatient rehab, temporary assisted living, and basic living expenses like groceries and prescriptions. It will also be used to help cover the unprecedented costs our family will be taking on, such as legal fees, travel fares, and lost income.

Thank you for the love we have been shown and the kind messages that our dad has received so far; words can't really express our gratitude fully. He has a long road ahead of him, and as painful as it is for my family to watch our dad struggle, the source of this pain is love, and it will move us forward.
