Hi, my name is George and I’m 12 years old. I love sport and started karate when I was 7 with Sensei Sam and I have been competing for the last 2 years.
I started by competing nationally but last October had the privilege to compete at the Liege International Open in Belgium.
As well as competing for my club, I have been selected for the South West England regional karate team and now I’ve had official confirmation of selection onto the England National Squad.
In 2023, I won bronze at the Liege International Open, gold at the E-1 series in London on the Saturday & Sunday won gold at the Elite International Open, I also won bronze at the Southern England Karate Open. As well as this, when representing the South West England regional team at the ‘end of year clash’ against the other regions I finished top boy in the age 10-11 category.
So far in 2024, I have won gold at the Murayama Cup XV, bronze at the EKF Kyu Grade Nationals, gold at the Orleans International Open, France, silver at my first competition in the age 12-13 category at the EKF National Championships, gold at the EKF International Open Championships, gold at the United Kingdom International Karate Championships and this last weekend I won silver at the Dutch International Open held in Almere.
My overall karate aim is to represent Great Britain at the Olympics and England at the World and European championships.
To achieve this I need to firstly work very hard, but also attend Youth League competitions held around the world and E-Series events so that I can gain ranking points, plus attend as many competitions as possible nationally to get experience & develop.
This year I still have an E-Series competition to attend and I’d love to compete at the Karate 1 Youth League, Venice in December.
As karate is a self funded sport, each competition including flights, travel, accommodation, kit and entry fees are paid for by my family.
We need your help to get me to these competitions, I really appreciate you taking the time to read my story and if you are able to make a donation; however big or small it will make a huge difference to me achieving my goals.
Please pass my page on to anyone else who might be able to help with a donation or sponsorship.
THANK YOU
George Pearce
