Help Sus Fight Against Brain Tumor

Help Susan Christiansen beat her brian tumor so she can fulfill her lifelong dream to one day fight with UFC champion, Ronda Rousey! Don’t let her sweet physical appearance fool you - Susan is tough and she is a fighter! Ever since we have known Susan, she is always the first person to help her friends, family, and strangers in need. She is one of the most kind, giving, and loving people we know. In fact, she has dedicated her work and passion in helping people through her research for her PhD program at Johns Hopkins University. She combines her passion in reproductive health and economics to focus on increasing family planning access and improving the lives of women and children throughout the world.

This June 2015, Susan was diagnosed with a fairly large 12 cm (4.7 in) tumor in her skull that is eroding her bone and pushing into her brain cavity. She also has another tumor in her neck located on her spine. She will be having surgery thisFriday, Oct 9rd at the Johns Hopkins Hospital by one of the top neurosurgeons in the country. The doctor will remove the tumors and part of the skull and replace it with an implant. We admire and love Susan’s positive spirit and her witty sense of humor about her tumor throughout this whole process. Your donation will be greatly appreciated to help pay for medical bills and recovery time, which she had to take off from work and her PhD program to take care of her health.
