Hi Everyone,

I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of the Milo-Nicolasin family. Over the last two months, they’ve had to deal with so much unexpected medical hardship. In October, their oldest son Elijah was hospitalized for pneumonia, which was exacerbated by his inability to gain weight due to ARFID (Avoidant-Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) and other GI issues. This led to him needing an NG tube for his daily nutrition until he was well enough for g-tube surgery. He spent the next month and a half in and out of the hospital until finally getting his g-tube this Monday, 11/17. Elijah has needed round the clock care since he first got sick in September.

Unfortunately, my Ate Trina became sick with pneumonia and was rushed to the ER last Tuesday (11/11). She ended up in the ICU for 3 days, followed by another 3 days in the step down unit. Since Elijah’s surgery was scheduled at a different hospital, she asked to be discharged on Sunday night so that she could be there for him. She was then readmitted to the same hospital as Elijah immediately after he woke up from surgery.

Elijah is recovering at home now, but my sister is still hospitalized with severe lung complications as of 11/21, and we’re not sure when she will be discharged.

Thankfully, their youngest son Benji, has been okay, and our parents have been helping take care of him. Meanwhile, my sister-in-law, Natalie, has had to balance work with being there for my sister and temporarily taking over her role as primary caregiver for Elijah while he recovers from surgery.

All of these medical bills plus the sudden reduction in income have made their financial situation very difficult. We are asking for any donations that can help them with medical bills, medical supplies (including Elijah’s nutritional formula), and other bills to help them stay afloat.
