750m Open Sea Swim Fundraiser

Hi Everyone,

I’m taking on an exciting and challenging 750m open sea swim as part of the Gaelforce Great Fjord Swim in Killary Fjord, Connemara, to raise funds for a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart—WASP Counselling and Family Support.

This organization does amazing work providing mental health support and resources to individuals and families in need.

They offer one to one counselling (provided by an independent counsellor) for people touched by drug and alcohol dependency, Relationship problems, Loss and bereavement. They also offer Life Skills workshop, Family Support, Family Mediation, Men's Support Group, Arts & Crafts, Personal development and Adult education groups all of which are dealt with in strict confidentiality.

Every donation, big or small, will help them continue their vital services.

Why WASP Counselling and Family Support?

Mental health is something that touches all of us, directly or indirectly. WASP offers a lifeline to those who are struggling. They work tirelessly to ensure that anyone in need of help has somewhere to turn, regardless of their financial situation.

The Challenge:

On 14th September, I’ll be braving the cold waters of Killary Fjord in Connemara during the Gaelforce Great Fjord Swim for a 750m swim. For those of you who know me, will know I only started sea swimming in January 2024 and swimming in the sea is a challenge in itself, when I first started swimming I was uncomfortable being out of my depth and quickly, I overcame that fear and now I regularly swim in open water and I thoroughly enjoy it. I’m determined to complete this swim to raise awareness and funds for this incredible charity.
