Help Jane Kick Cancer 2
Donation protected
Hi all! Well, this isn't a place we ever wanted to revisit, but such is life. A handful of years ago my sister, Jane, was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. This was nothing new to our family, as the same form of cancer took our mother away from us way too early back in 1995. Turn the page ahead a few chapters and we then lost our father, way too early as well, to cancer in 2009. Jane took on her treatments like only Jane can and kicked it straight in the teeth and officially went into remission in August of 2017. Just before her original diagnosis, she became a grandma for the first time when her first grandchild, Eli was born. Since then, she has had 3 more grandchildren bless her life in Bentley, Penelope, and Malcolm. She is your typical grandma and would take the shirt off of her back for any of these kids, just as she would for her own, Marcus and Aundrea.
So this is where we are today. Needless to say, the financial burden that Jane and Justin, her wonderful husband of 22 years, had to endure the first go around was quite stressful. As they had just started to see the light at the end of the tunnel this news got dropped on them. Jane's cancer has come back and come back very aggressively. Per the doctor's report, the exam came back abnormal. "Development of peritoneal carcinomatosis and omental caking with moderate ascites. this is consistent with recurrent ovarian malignancy." This is considered recurrent cancer and noncurable. Jane will begin the first of 6 rounds of chemotherapy treatments this week.
We don't know what the future holds for our family, but we do know this...Jane is the glue, she will not back down nor will we let her. We are asking for financial assistance if at all possible. Jane works as a hairstylist and cannot work currently leaving a glaring gap in their household income. Bills will start to pile up fairly quickly and that stress doesn't need to be on their plate currently. Please take the time to donate. If you can't donate, please share this post so somebody else, who may not see this, can have the opportunity to donate.
On a personal note, this is my sister, my best friend of 47 years. We have been through so much in this lifetime. I don't tell her enough because I know she knows...but Jane, I love you!!! Fight like hell!!!
