Hi there…

we have just returned from our travels from Crete this Thursday and whilst there visited Gouves Animal Shelter. Niki and the team of valuable volunteers here are working so hard to support and protect the shelter for dogs and cats that are either stray or left at the gates of the shelter.

we spent some days of our holiday walking the dogs at the rescue and spending sometime with the dogs and cats there with the volunteers.

they currently have over 200 dogs and cats needing support within the shelter alongside supporting foster families and also going out in the towns and countryside to vaccinate and treat stray dogs and cats.

We was able to purchase some food for the animals from the pets shop near to the shelter but also we learnt that the shelter has mounting debts with the pet shop for food and also the bills from the vets are also building.

Niki and the team are working full time Jobs as well as supporting the running of the shelter.

we are lucky here in the uk to have government funding towards a lot of the big rescues and lucky to be able to have big named celebrities supporting these, where as in places such as Crete there is none of this leaving all the support and work to be done by the amazing volunteers at the shelters.

please help me try to raise as much as we can to support the shelter and the amazing work that these people do.
