Help Aaron Scott Fight Cancer
Spende geschützt
Aaron’s story
As some of you know, Aaron was diagnosed with a medullablastoma brain tumor in June of 2021. He was rushed into surgery to relieve fluid on his brain. During that surgery , Aaron had a brain bleed that caused a stroke and he was unable to breathe on his own. They had to put a trach and a feeding tube to help him survive. He went through 6 weeks of in-house therapies in Orlando while also doing 6 weeks of proton therapy. He grew much stronger and was able to be released to Tampa without the trach but still having the feeding tube.
Aaron then did chemotherapy at St Joseph’s Children’s hospital for four intense months. He battled the chemo well and was considered cancer free. Aaron was getting stronger every month while doing PT, OT and speech in an outpatient facility. He was even able to start going to the gym and lifting weights but still needed a person behind him while he used the walker to keep him steady. He was cancer free and trying to go back to finish his college degree but continued having MRIs every 3-4 months to make sure.
In October of 2023 , there were several tiny spots that appeared on his spine during his MRI. The doctors decided to first observe them to see if they were growing , when they realized that a couple of them were growing, they had to biopsy them to see if they were the same cancer as before. The results were not what we were hoping for since medulla blastomas are much harder to fight if they come back. Aaron will have to start a whole new chemotherapy and will need all the support he can get. This one will be for a longer period of time and some of it will be pill based as well as infusion. We are all wanting Aaron to continue a good quality of life and pray that the chemo will control the tumors. He is continuing OT, PT in our home since the biopsy left him very weak and at one point, he wasn’t able to move his limbs. He’s slowly getting stronger and hoping to be able to work out at the gym if the chemo doesn’t leave him too weak. We have been trying to get Aaron qualified for Disability but he keeps getting denied. We are trying to revise his paperwork. Aaron’s doctor bills have piled up and his copays for each doctor still continue. We are asking for any help that you can give him to make sure he can continue to fight and help him stay in his positive attitude while fighting this cancer again. Thank you all for your prayers and support. ❤️
