Update as of January 13, 2026
Pamela is at home still. She’s still weak and having to use a walker. She’s still on oxygen 24 hrs a day. Thank you to those who have donated to this fund, either by contributing here or sending monetary gifts to Myranda. Even though she’s home, she can’t work and bills and needs still have to be met. Please give as God leads you to give.

My name is Sandra Felts. I am making this page on behalf of Myranda Carroll, trying to help raise money for her Mom and my aunt, Pamela James. She was admitted to Wake Med Hospital in mid-December. Diagnosed with COPD, RSV, and CHF, she was sedated and placed on a ventilator. Her heart was only working 25%. She remained on the vent until Wednesday, December 30, 2025. This is the latest update from her daughter, Myranda Carroll.

Update on Pam, my mom. Sorry I cannot reply to everyone. Don't take it personally, it’s just a lot going on.

She has COPD, heart failure, RSV, and two types of pneumonia. A few days ago, she couldn’t breathe on her own and her heart was working at 25%. As of yesterday, we saw a big improvement. They were able to remove the ventilator, placing her on oxygen instead.

She needed a mask to still help her breathe more at first, but a few hours later she was able to switch to regular oxygen. She was awake and able to communicate by nodding and squeezing fingers. Today she was able to say her name, birthday, and the month, and even eat puréed food.

Things are still up and down, and she remains in the ICU, but we are trusting God and taking this one moment at a time. Please continue to keep her in your prayers

She continues to improve each day, but still has a long road ahead for recovery. She will hopefully be moved to a regular room soon.

I’m asking for donations to help cover her bills for the next couple of months. All monies will go to her daughter to pay these while Pam is still hospitalized.
