Bridget’s fight against Breast Cancer
Donation protected
At the start of August Bridget got the news that no wife, mother or daughter should ever have to hear - she was Diagnosed with Triple Negative Agressive Invasive Breast cancer.
She has already started the test phase and will move on to chemo very soon, which will be followed by surgery and further chemo and radiation therapy. Any help we can give them to get through this tough time will be very appreciated. Bridget’s words below sum up her journey so far and the long road ahead.
One week ago today, I got the news no one ever wants to get...
"I'm sorry, it's not good news, you have BREAST CANCER"
Then I was told I have "triple negative aggressive invasive breast cancer", and boy was that a lot to hear.
From finding a lump in my left breast in the shower three weeks ago, to an ultrasound, a mammogram, a biopsy, to the diagnosis. Things escalated quickly.
I'm now in the hands of the doctors and oncology department at Bendigo Health.
We don't know a lot yet as I am still in the process of having bulk testing and imaging done to see if/how far the cancer has spread before moving forward with treatment.
What I do know is once they know exactly what they're dealing with, I will begin chemotherapy, followed by surgery, then radiation.
Thank you to those who already know and have offered us a world of support, we're going to need every bit of it. We're incredibly lucky to be surrounded with the very best family and friends ❤️
Now it's time to #beatthebastard
