Anna's Fight with ALS
Donation protected
In August 2015 my mom had constant leg cramps and a heaviness sensation in her legs. After six months of blood tests, MRIs, EMGs, appointments with specialists we got the heartbreaking diagnosis of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).
Also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that causes muscle weakness, paralysis, and ultimately, respiratory failure. The average life expectancy after being diagnosed with ALS is 2-5 years.
My family and I would greatly appreciate any donation that would go toward medical equipment and care.
As Lou said himself "I might have been given a bad break but I've got an awful lot to live for." My Mom is the strongest person I know and I am confident that she will fight ALS as long as she can.
Thank you,
Elizabeth Berland
