Rectal cancer is a type of cancer that affects the rectum, the lower part of the large intestine. Both men and women can be diagnosed with rectal cancer, and while the overall survival rates have improved due to advancements in treatment, the journey can be incredibly challenging. The five-year survival rate for rectal cancer varies but is approximately 67% overall, depending on the stage at diagnosis.
This illness can impose significant emotional, physical, and financial burdens. Many patients struggle to maintain their jobs and manage daily life while undergoing treatments like chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgeries such as Abdominoperineal resection, which may involve the use of colostomy stoma bags. The impact on mental health can be profound, with feelings of isolation and helplessness often exacerbated when support systems are lacking.
Saving 's aimed at supporting those affected can make a real difference. So I decided to do GoFundMe campaign that could provide crucial financial assistance to individuals and families facing these challenges, helping them cover essential expenses during recovery. Such support allows patients to focus on their health rather than worrying about bills and other pressures, ultimately aiding their recovery process.

My Story
In 2018, I participated in a 10K run for cancer research after losing many loved ones to this devastating illness. Today, I find myself on the front lines, battling Rectal Cancer. This journey has turned my world upside down; I never imagined I would be in this position, despite believing I was healthy. As the first in my family to face this challenge, I sometimes feel like I've let them down.
However, I also see the incredible strength and resilience in so many warriors even little warriors who are bravely fighting various cancers. It brings me hope to know that we can cherish more moments with our loved ones. The true beauty of this journey is the outpouring of love and support from family and friends, which has been invaluable as I navigate this uncharted path. I've witnessed the struggles that cancer can inflict financially, mentally, and physically. Now, I ask for your support to help raise funds for my fellow warriors currently on this journey.
