After months of struggling with his health, Jose Israel Marin Molina ascended to the spiritual world on May 28, 2025. A beloved and devoted husband, father, brother, Unification Church member, and community member, passed away surrounded by his immediate family in the hospital. He is survived by his wife Elvia, his son Israel, his daughter Marilyn, his pet cat Ash, and his pet turtle Beemo.

Jose Israel Marin Molina was born on August 2, 1950, in Pereira, Colombia, to Clementina Molina and Enrique Marin, and was raised alongside his 15 siblings. Jose Israel’s strong work ethic and adventurous heart led him to venture out, leaving his home country at an early age. He arrived in Canada as a teen, navigating new languages and cultures. However, eventually his travels would lead him to New York to reunite with his siblings. In 1972, Jose Israel in New York was witnessed to and joined the Unification Church. This community provided the space for him to develop his life of faith and heart to be in service to others. He actively attended seminars, workshops, fundraised, and witnessed. He would later share stories of these experiences with his kids. On August 25, 1995, he was blessed and married to Elvia Marin. Shortly after, in December of 1996, he welcomed his son Israel Marin Benavides, and later in January of 2000, he welcomed his daughter Marilyn Marin Benavides. Jose Israel Marin Molina loved spending time with family, creating memories together, bringing him the utmost happiness and purpose. He also valued gathering with friends to watch fútbol, playing pool, and reminiscing. He enjoyed making those around him laugh with jokes and anecdotes. His smile will never be forgotten.

In addition to your thoughts and prayers, funds collected are to support his family in covering his funeral expenses and organizing a celebration to honor his life. It’s with great gratitude and humility that the family receives any contribution given. Thank you, and God bless.
