My dad, Carlos, isn't just a name; he's the rock of our family, an incredible husband to my mom, and a devoted father to his three kids, including me. Carlos cherishes the simple joys in life, like spending time outdoors, especially at the beach, and creating cherished memories with those he loves. But on May 29th, 2024, our world was shaken when my dad, a car transporter by profession, faced a life-threatening accident while at work.

While performing a routine check underneath his semi-truck after an oil change to check his brakes, the unimaginable happened—the truck began to collapse, trapping him beneath its weight.

In those harrowing moments, my dad fought for his life as the tire pinned his pelvis and caught his leg. It took a staggering 20 minutes for someone to hear his cries for help and call emergency services. Miraculously, he survived, but not without grave injuries—two breaks in his pelvis, severe swelling, bruising on his legs, and three fractured ribs.

Carlos underwent immediate surgery the follwoing day to stabilize his condition, but the road to recovery is long and strenuous. The doctors have estimated that he won't be able to return to work for at least 5-7 months, however he may not ever be able to be the same after this. As the main breadwinner of our family of five, this devastating setback has left us in a hard financial situation.
