My name is Elizabeth Barry and I am currently a Graduate Student at the Chicago College of Performing Arts. While at CCPA I performed the role of Fortuna in Monteverdi's Coronation of Poppea, Suor Osmina in Puccini's Suor Angelica, and Aunt Emma in Hindemith's There and Back. This semester I will perform as Delia in Rossini's rarely constructed Il Viaggio A Reims. Most singers only dream of the day they will perform in Europe. My dream can become a reality this summer, and you can help! I have been accepted into the American University of Rome's Summer Vocal Institute with world renowned mezzo-soprano, Marilyn Horne. This program is in its inaugural year and I have bene lucky enough to be selected!
For any singer, acceptance into a summer program is the chance of a life time and can make all the difference in their career preparations. For me, attending AUR's Summer Vocal Institute will be a great opportunity to grow and learn.
