House Flood

I am starting this account for my sister Kassy and her two little ones whose house has FLOODED TWICE IN 4 DAYS. Over this past weekend Kassy and her children arrived home from a weekend stay with family in Dallas to at least 2 inches of standing water in their home. All bedrooms were carpeted and fully soaked. A lot of the kids toys, books, furniture, and other items were ruined. Our family gathered at her house to bag up what could be washed and salvaged. The rest of the furniture, including mattresses, clothing, bedding was all piled into the living room where no water had risen to. They are currently living in a hotel. Today (Wednesday), Kassy received a message from her property management thats someone turned the water back on at the home and IT FLOODED AGAIN, this time much worse than before. All of the furniture is completely soaked in the living room. The water rose so high the couch and curtains are wet. Along with all items stacked in the living area. Unfortunately she does not have renters insurance. The owner of the house wants to save the carpet so a floor cleaning company has occupied the home. She is not allowed in the house until the floor job is done, this will be delayed even further now that the house has flooded again. There is not a date set when she can move back in. Kassy has tried to remain grateful for what she has left. Material things are replaceable, family is not.
