Support for surgery ✨

Hello to all my friends, family and to anyone reading this. I just want to start by saying thank you for your time and energy. I humbly come before you all, asking for your love, support and assistance. I have a major surgery coming up quickly, scheduled for June 28th.

I have had a disability called PMDD since I started being a woman, as a kiddo. PMDD is a bit difficult to describe, as it is a complicated disorder. PMDD is similar to a cyclic mood illness, with physical symptoms that include flu-like body aches and pain. I have a rather severe case. I have always been trying to self medicate. I can describe it as feeling so uncomfortable in my own skin, that I would do anything to feel better. About 9 months ago, I gave up drinking and partying so that I could take my life and this chronic illness seriously. The older I get, the worse my symptoms get.

I am lucky to have an amazing treatment team who is familiar with PMDD. As many of you may know, I have been on a journey of health and wellness. Between finding the right meds, being in therapy once a week, joining support groups, working out 5x a week, being sober, and eating healthy, I am literally doing everything in my power to defeat this illness.

About six months ago, I started to develop endometriosis symptoms. Having PMDD + Endo has made my life unmanageable.

I am so lucky to say that I found a doctor who will perform the life changing surgery that is reserved for patients who have followed the recommended treatment guidelines and are still treatment resistant. A total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy (TAHBSO).

After my surgery consultation I cried tears of joy for the first time in my life. I can’t believe this is finally happening. This has been an uphill battle for over half of my life. There are not words to describe the gratitude I have in my heart.

I am going to be in recovery for 6-8 weeks. My job is extremely physical, so healing properly is going to be huge.

I am looking for people to come visit me while I am in recovery. I’m thinking about doing some art nights with friends. I am also looking for people to help me with dinner meals.

Thank you so much for listening to my story! I am so ready for the rest of my life to finally begin. The road to recovery will be long, but luckily this is the end of my marathon.

 Sincerely,

 Jessica Kent
