Hi everyone, my name is Makai Williams, I’m a freshman biology major at Howard University from Montclair New Jersey and I’m sending out this gofundme in hopes of raising funds for my kitten Oscar who just turned one year old. 

I adopted Oscar at a shelter in December of 2020 when he was 2 months old. He was neutered and vaccinated and has been perfectly healthy since.  Within the past week that all has changed. Oscar has been diagnosed with Lower Urinary Tract Disease which means he’s blocked from urinating due to crystals in his bladder. This is a common disease among male cats however it has been reoccurring for Oscar. He has been blocked 4 different times within the same week. He has been hospitalized three times at the Animal Emergency in Fairfield NJ and the vets have told us this is very likely to happen again and if it does he needs to have a perineal urethrostomy (surgery to open up his urethra and make it easier for him to urinate) or he will have to be put to sleep within the next 72 hours. 

My family and I have exhausted our expenses with these last few emergencies (each time he gets reblocked he must return to the hospital and have a catheter inserted for 48hrs) so we are asking if anyone can donate anything to help. Anything helps and we truly, truly appreciate anything and everything. If you know me personally you know how much Oscar means to me and how devastated I would be to lose him.
