Although doing free camps was great I started to think how could I expand this to more kids in more states and for a longer time than 2-3 hours of instruction. That’s when I decided to start the L40 JPK scholarship fund. This fund is named after my best friend and lifelong wrestler Jake Kempinski who was taken from us far too soon. He was a unique and genuine soul and to keep that spirit alive I decided to name it after him. Last year we raised about 5 thousand dollars and sent about 100 kids to various wrestling camps throughout the summer. This year I know for a fact we can destroy that number because of how much bigger my personal platform is and how much more aware the wrestling community is to this movement. I have also been way more efficient at narrowing down the camps and negotiating the price per camper at these places. Now I am ready to put forward a full blown concentrated effort to send these kids to camp this summer.But I cannot do this alone ! We need your help! This Gofundme is going to be the formal outlet for all those people who want to join me in this effort. Our goal is to raise 20,000 dollars for underprivileged/ at risk kids to attend high level multi-day wrestling camps that have world class clinicians and world class instruction. No other series of camps offers that better than the iron sharpens iron series that takes place throughout the summer. The money raised here will directly go to sending kids to one of the four camps they offer during the summer ( that I will personally be teaching at). We don’t need the full 20k to make an impact and I will be withdrawing periodically and pay paling the camp director so he can start selecting which teams will get to attend the camp.
