Many of you are now aware of the devastating and sudden passing of Louise Fisher on Wednesday 16th November 2022, leaving behind Adam, Luke and Isabelle. Even though Louise’s life has been cut short from us suddenly. The time she had with us will always be with us.

With all the highs, lows, happiness and sadness. Louise will also be remembered by her love and involvement within the local rugby community. And to honor the memory of Louise, the Rugby community are playing a charity game in the style of a barbarians match, competitive fun with some twists.

The "Louise Fisher Memorial Rugby Match", in aid of Lou's favourite charity 'Alzheimer’s Society' will allow us to reflect on Louise’s life and our relationships with her, whilst having a good laugh either playing or watching the game we know and love as she did.

Match Day

Date: Friday 28th April

Venue: Newark Rugby Club. Kelham Rd, Newark NG24 1WN

Kick-off: 1830hrs

The teams will be made up from both former and current players from Ashfield RUFC where Luke played for many years, and will face a Newark RUFC side where Luke currently plays.

Provisionally it's planned that Luke will lead the Barbarians style team against Newark and then switch to rejoin Newark for the second half.

All the match fees from the players and any donations raised will be 100% given to Alzheimer’s Society in the memory of Louise Fisher. Any support post, present and on the evening will be greatly appreciated.
