This past weekend, after what we hoped was a rebound for Lizzy, she left this earth surrounded by her loving family. An unimaginable ending to a young woman who inspired so many.
In response to the many inquiries received on how you can help, we've set up a Go Fund Me. The donations raised will help the family navigate the coming weeks making finances the least of their concerns regarding funeral arrangements, medical bills, etc.
Matt, Lizzy’s father, provided a loving journal entry the day after she passed. We cannot think of a more beautiful expression, so we will share his words…

February 1st would have been her 4th year lung transplant anniversary. These years have been a blessing filled with fun and adventure. Lizzy traveled to New York and Europe with her sister, took off on a road trip with her brother, she and I went skydiving and we had other trips along the west coast, from Seattle down to Southern California. But this was not to last. Her recent lung infection, failing kidneys and decompensated liver failure became insurmountable. Life support system were keeping her alive and she did not want that.
She had final conversations with each of us and for a time she talked and laughed with her brother, sister, BFF Kara and my niece Alex who had just arrived from Australia. It was a scene from any typical day they would have all had together.
Lizzy seemed her old self and looked happy and carefree… She then began tiring and told the nurse she was ready to turn off the machines. My sweet Lizzy who had just playfully spent a few hours slowly faded away with us encircled around her. In response to my question earlier that day, Lizzy said it was hard waking up. The time with her today and having the opportunity of last conversations was a gift beyond measure that Lizzy gave to us.
My Lizzy’s name is now written in the heavens and we, her family, must be equally as brave and learn how to live in this world without her.
Please spread the word in your circles. Any support is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
