My Name is Maureen Elizabeth O'Reilly. I am an Registered Nurse that has specialized in Emergency, ICU and Transport Nursing and currently I am a Health Informaticist. I started this fund to help bring medications to the Solukombhu Region in Nepal and ended up doing much more than that with the help of many friends and donations. I had to leave Nepal to go back to the USA but I want to continue to help these people that I now love so much. There is so much need here, since it was devastasted by the earthquake the rebuilding and relief has been slow to materialize. Many of my friends have taken matters into their own hands and are working to bring relief to so much needed areas. My friend Tula grew up in Barpak, Nepal. This was the Epicenter of the earthquake and there is not one single house standing. Many people died here and there are several children that have been orphaned and countless other children living in extreme poverty and don't have homes either. Tula is organizing a mountain bike race on the anniversary of the earthquake to raise funds and awareness to this devastated region. He has been working tirelessly everyday to get this race organized because he is determined to help his community. Please help me to help him. In addition, my friend Wangchuk who is a Buddhist Monk and also Paramedic in Nepal has also dedicated all his time to rebuilding the health care facility in the Tsum Valley, it was damaged in the earthquake and there has been no effort to rebuild it, this area is currently without any healthcare resources. Both these men are doing amazing work and I would like to help them as much as I can in the way of donations until I can return to Nepal myself. If you donate to this fund I can assure you these funds will go directly to improving the lives of the beautiful Nepali children and families that need it the most.
