Help me, Help Cailea, Keep her Dreams
Hello Family, Friends, Friends of Friends and all who have felt helplessness because of cancer. Cailea Chappel (my son’s girlfriend of over 3 years) has become a daughter to me. I am so amazed that my son has found this special young lady. Cailea has recently been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. As you see in the photo, the doctors have removed the largest tumor.
Cancer affects all our lives, directly or indirectly. Myself - my sister and a dear friend passed months apart (4 yrs ago). The feeling of helplessness is extremely overwhelming. Cailea came in my life a little over 3 yrs ago. She is kind, caring and has a heart of gold. Yes, my son is very lucky. I watched their relationship grow and how strong this young lady is. Her plans are simple, education, a family and her community. A life any parent would be proud of. At age 16 she began working to save for college. WOW! She planned Delta for 2 yrs and started at Saginaw Valley for her 3 rd yr. She is working toward a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. Cailea currently works at Dow in a Co-op position. Then life changed forever, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, the dreams and goals all put on hold. A disease that she now has to work into her life. Now it’s medical bills, loss of college tuition, that was already paid, and loss of future college tuition. Now it is student loans and medical debt. The worst part of all of this, her dream of having a child is now reduced to a chance. My heart is hurting, this shouldn’t happen to anyone.
I am asking you to help by giving. Give so Cailea does not have to choose between college and paying medical expenses. Help me, Help Cailea, Keep her dreams. Help by giving financial support. Let’s show Hodgkin’s disease that it isn’t going to hold her down. Let help Cailea get back to her life and her plan for happiness. I’ll start with $100.00. Any amount from 5.00 goes a long ways.
